The Black Star
The Story So Far
The current chapter began in the Glass Wastes, where the party stopped treating the black star as a disputed prophecy and confirmed it as a recurring celestial threat. Ilyra of the Last Lens revealed that earlier civilizations built several defenses and Seraphine’s testimony disclosed the irreversible memory-price required to restore the Crown. At Solspire, Selvara named Prince Caelum as the Eclipse Regent and explained his plan to impose permanent twilight across Aurelis. The party recovered the Radiant Shard but found Caelum’s evidence incomplete rather than false. Back in Dawnwatch, Aster surrendered the memory of his last peaceful day with his father and restored the Crown. Its vision confirmed the approaching black star, showed ancient structures awakening across Aurelis, and made the Crown itself shine like a beacon. Caelum has now halted his approaching army and requested parley. The party must decide which parts of each royal sibling’s interpretation can be trusted before Aurelis commits to a defense.

The Eclipse Regent

When the Crown Wakes
Aster pays the memory-price. The Crown is restored, confirms the black star, awakens ancient structures, and behaves like a beacon before Caelum requests parley.
