Valec opened the Sun Gate only briefly before the Dawnshards disrupted it. Its destinations, relationship to other ancient structures, and possible role in the black-star cycle remain unknown.

The archive fire continued a decades-long erasure of Seraphine, the Dawnshards, and the Veiled Flame. Ysabet and Pell are reconstructing what vanished and who benefited from keeping later rulers ignorant.

Valec compromised officers across the Dawnwatch Guard. The coup exposed many participants but not the entire network, leaving Voss to rebuild an institution that cannot yet assume rank equals loyalty.
