Dawnwatch Guard

The Dawnwatch Guard is the capital’s standing defensive force, responsible for city gates, patrols, palace security, and emergency defense. Captain Elian Voss commands the organization, with Marshal Iren Tor taking operational control when Voss is wounded. Valec’s conspiracy compromised part of the officer corps and used legitimate orders, assignments, and access to prepare the coup, leaving loyal guards uncertain which commands could still be trusted.

Defend Dawnwatch, restore a verified chain of command, identify officers who knowingly served Valec, and prepare the capital for the black-star crisis without repeating the assumptions that enabled the coup.

The Guard shows the institutional cost of the Eclipse conspiracy. It is neither a uniformly corrupt enemy nor an uncomplicated source of authority: loyal units save civilians and defend the city while compromised units nearly deliver Highcourt to Valec. Voss and Tor’s post-siege work gives the campaign an ongoing consequence beyond defeating individual conspirators—the capital must rebuild a security institution whose public legitimacy and internal chain of command were both damaged.
