Ilyra of the Last Lens

Ilyra of the Last Lens is a preserved consciousness housed in the surviving instruments of the Observatory of Ilyr. She is not presented as an omniscient oracle or living eyewitness to every past event. When Nyra correctly aligns Selvara’s chart with the observatory, Ilyra recognizes the black-star pattern in stored astronomical records and explains what those records establish: the phenomenon has appeared before, and earlier civilizations constructed multiple responses across Aurelis.

Ilyra changes the black star from Eclipse doctrine into independently supported evidence while carefully limiting what that evidence proves. She confirms recurrence but cannot establish whether each appearance is literally the same object. She also breaks the false choice between restoring the Crown and accepting Caelum’s plan by establishing that older civilizations built other defenses. Her preserved records provide a research direction, not a final answer, which keeps uncertainty where the campaign has not resolved it.
