The Eclipse Court

The Eclipse Court is Prince Caelum Auriel’s covert network of nobles, occult researchers, infiltrators, soldiers, and field agents assembled around the belief that Aurelis faces a recurring black-star catastrophe. Before the siege it operated through compartmentalized cells, compromised state offices, hidden financing, and the destruction of records connected to Queen Seraphine and the Crown. Valec controlled its political machinery in Dawnwatch, while Selvara directed occult field work and Caelum remained the Regent above both.

Prevent the approaching black star from exploiting concentrated solar magic; stop or control uses of the restored Crown that Caelum believes could act as a beacon; establish the permanent-twilight defense if Caelum cannot secure another solution.

The Court is the campaign’s principal organized antagonist, but its importance is not limited to opposing the party. Its research preserved evidence the royal government had lost, and Ilyr later confirms the celestial threat behind Caelum’s fear. That does not validate the Court’s methods: it murdered Caldus, burned archives, intimidated communities, infiltrated the Guard, attempted a coup, besieged Dawnwatch, and seeks to impose permanent twilight without public consent. The faction therefore embodies the campaign’s central conflict between possessing part of the truth and claiming the right to decide what everyone else must sacrifice for it.
