Royal Court of Aurelis

The Royal Court of Aurelis is Queen Maelin’s governing institution at Highcourt, encompassing the monarch’s council, senior ministers, court historians, administrative offices, and the political networks surrounding them. The Court entered the campaign believing much of Seraphine’s true history had been lost naturally; the party’s investigation demonstrates that records were deliberately removed and that Chancellor Valec used his office to finance and protect Eclipse operations.

Maintain lawful government after Valec’s betrayal, reconstruct the suppressed historical record, defend Aurelis, and determine a response to the black star using evidence from the party, Ilyr, the Crown, and the coming parley.

The Royal Court is where recovered evidence becomes public authority and where the cost of corrupted information is most visible. Maelin must govern while learning that her own archives, Chancellor, Guard appointments, and understanding of royal history were compromised. The Court gives the party access to resources and legitimacy, but it cannot simply provide the correct answer to the black-star crisis. Its reconstruction under Maelin is part of the campaign’s broader question of whether institutions can become trustworthy after the assumptions beneath them have failed.
