What It Is
The Division of Morning is Seraphine’s written account concerning her decision to divide the Crown. Caldus’s research points toward the folio before his death, but Eclipse agents attack the restricted archive and steal the principal copy while burning related collections. Nyra and Archivist Pell preserve fragments and catalog evidence sufficient to prove the work existed and that its removal was targeted.

Role in the Story
The folio is the clearest early example of history being actively erased rather than merely forgotten. Its theft turns Caldus's private suspicions into evidence of an organized suppression campaign and pushes the party toward Saint Orien, where murals independently confirm the central claim: Seraphine broke the Crown by choice. Because the complete folio remains unavailable, later discoveries must be corroborated through sites, testimony, and surviving records rather than a single authoritative text.
