Who They Are

Corin began with a clear religious ethic: preserve life, reveal truth, and oppose darkness. The Dawnshards made those principles harder to apply. At Lake Auriel he learned that memory could be treated as currency and that the Crown magnifies conviction without deciding whether that conviction is merciful or wise. He kept Captain Voss alive during the coup and organized sanctuary during the siege, experiences that reinforced his belief that survival should be measured in people rather than symbols or victories. Corin became the strongest voice against assuming Seraphine’s memory-price was justified merely because the ritual was ancient or effective. Aster’s sacrifice proved the Crown could be restored without proving the cost was right. Corin now faces a genuine celestial catastrophe using tools he does not fully trust and allies increasingly willing to justify extreme measures. His faith must answer not only what the Light opposes, but what it permits in the name of survival.

Their Story

Seraphine’s memory-price turned Corin’s theological concern into a direct conflict with the campaign’s apparent solution. He argued that a willing sacrifice was not automatically a righteous one and asked Aster to reconsider before the Forge. After Aster’s memory was taken, Corin refused to call restoration a clean victory. With the black star real and both Maelin and Caelum considering extreme responses, his faith must now answer what the Light permits when every available path demands a cost from someone.
